DENVER - The Colorado Nurses Foundation today announced the 2017 Nightingale Gift-Basket Challenge honoring Colorado­­ nurses and benefiting the foundation’s nursing education and recognition programs.

Gift baskets entered into the competition will be raffled off during the 2017 Colorado Nightingale Luminary Awards and Gala on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Grand Hyatt Denver, 1750 Welton St, Denver, CO 80202

How the contest works: Submissions will be accepted from three types of organizations — 1) Hospitals and other health-care facilities, 2) Nursing schools and 3) Nursing nonprofit organizations including district nursing associations, or DNAs.

Only one gift-basket submission is allowed per institution, school or organization. Other gift baskets are welcomed in the annual Nightingale Silent Auction. In the case of multiple entries per organization, the chief nursing officer, the dean or director of a nursing school or the board president of the nursing nonprofit organization will designate the basket to be entered in the Gift-Basket Challenge.

Baskets should be creatively themed, with some possible themes below:

• Aromatherapy Gift Basket

• Artist’s Basket

• Baked Goods Basket

• Beach Days Basket

• Bookworm Basket

• Camping Package

• Chocolate Lover’s Basket

• Family Game Night Basket

• Gardening Basket

• Gift Card Basket

• Globetrotter’s Basket

• Rainy Day Basket

• Spa Day Package

• Tea Time Gift Basket

• Ultimate Coffee Basket

• Wine & Cheese Basket

First prizes will be given in each of the three categories, with a Best in Show award across all the categories.

Gift baskets will be judged for uniqueness/originality of theme, creativity of design, selection of items included, and overall presentation.

Please make arrangements to have your basket delivered prior to 5 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, to the foundation’s offices at 2851 Parker Road, Suite 1210, Aurora, CO 80014. Alternatively, baskets may be taken to the hotel on the day of the event only, but they must be taken to the hotel’s ballroom by 3 p.m. The foundation can make arrangements to pick up baskets with two days’ notice, with limitations.
