GRAND JUNCTION -- Two nurses each from from SCL Health's St. Mary-Corwin Hospital and the VA's Grand Junction Veterans Health System joined a nursing professor from Colorado Northwestern Community College and the retired director of the Summit County Health and Human Services Department in being named March 4 as Colorado Nightingale Luminaries.
Receiving the regional honor were St. Mary's Sherry Eidsness and Jaimie Klein Altenburg, the VA's Elizabeth Roten and Teresa Shields, Colorado Northwestern's Kathy Fagan and Deb Crook, retired of Summit County.
The six will join up to 60 fellow luminaries from across Colorado at the state Nightingale Luminary Awards and Gala on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Grand Hyatt Denver.
Tickets, tables and sponsorships for the the state event can be purchased online through early May, availability permitting.
The Colorado Nurses Foundation administers the Colorado Nightingale Luminary Awards and convenes the statewide committee that selects 12 recipients of the Colorado Nightingale Award. The Western Colorado Nightingale Committee solicits nominations regionally and each year designates up to six Luminaries locally.
