COLORADO SPRINGS -- Two nurses from Centura Penrose St. Francis Hospital and one each from Children's Hospital Colorado, the Evans Army Community Hospital, the U.S. Air Force Academy's 10th Medical Group and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs were named March 2 as Colorado Nightingale Luminaries. 

Receiving the regional honor were Karen Sublett and Elissa Peters of Penrose St. Francis, Kelly Beach of Children's, Roan Facey-Dunn of Evans Army, the Air Force Academy's Capt. John Smith and Deborah Kenny of UCCS. 

The six will join up to 60 fellow luminaries from across Colorado at the state Nightingale Luminary Awards and Gala on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Grand Hyatt Denver. 

Tickets, tables and sponsorships for the the state event can be purchased online through early May, availability permitting. 

The Colorado Nurses Foundation administers the Colorado Nightingale Luminary Awards and convenes the statewide committee that selects 12 recipients of the Colorado Nightingale Award. The Pikes Peak Nightingale Committee solicits nominations regionally and each year designates up to six Luminaries locally.
